A subscriber reached out to me and said,
"Do you have a GOOD understanding of what Eric does for a living? He has a lot of money and talks about his work at a nonprofit and being a small business owner, but he is an enigma.
To answer they/them's questions, I went to the FPPC. The FPPC is the Fair Political Practices Commission, a non-partisan, independent commission that regulates campaign financing, conflicts of interest, lobbying, and governmental ethics.
All candidates running for any political office, from school board members to assembly members to senators, must submit a 700 report to inform the public about any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their voting on particular matters of public concern.
For example, a conflict of interest would arise if a politician has a personal stake in a business that could be affected by their legislative decisions, such as owning stock in Pfizer, and then votes on taxpayer-funded healthcare, which would potentially increase the stock value of Pfizer.
Eric Alegria currently serves on the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD) Board of Education. He was elected in 2024 and is currently running for the California Senate.
If Alegria were to win in November of 2026, he would not finish his term as a PVPUSD School Board Member.
Here's what I found on the FPPC website. Eric Alegria filed his first Form on 1/2/2018 for the filing year 2017, when he assumed office on the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council. In total, he filed nine 700 forms.

For 2017, Eric Alegria reported his 401 (k) with Fidelity, which had a fair market value between $100,000 and $1 million. He listed his Business Entity as The Gym L.A., and his position is as the Chief Financial Officer and Owner with a value of $100,000 to $1 MILLION. He owned a property in Torrance and a rental property in El Segundo. In 2017, he was employed as the Vice President of Monarch Optum Care, a healthcare company, where he earned a salary exceeding $100,000.
When Eric Alegria served on the Rancho Palos Verdes City Council from 2018 to 2020, he submitted only three pages, compared to the six pages submitted for the prior year and the six to seven pages submitted for years 2022-2025. Alegria received a salary from Providence St. Joseph of over $100,000. The properties remained the same. However, he initially left out Gym L.A., but then added it back in 2021.
Nothing in his forms aroused any suspicion until 2021, when he acquired new property in Sacramento and Catalina.
Did he decide in 2021 that he would run for CA State Senate, and serving on the PVPUSD School Board would be just a quick stop on his way up the political ladder?

I reviewed all the forms from 2017 to 2025, and what stood out to me as a red flag was the form he filed on 12/2024, when he was leaving office.

Alegria listed a new business venture, a Car Wash, doing business as Alegria Ventures, LLC, which is where the Breaking Bad title comes in.
Breaking Bad is a TV series that ran from 2008 to 2013 about a High School Chemistry Teacher, Walter White, who starts as a struggling good guy just trying to make ends meet, but then is diagnosed with terminal cancer, so in an effort to leave his family some money, he gets involved with a former student who sells meth. Walter turns into a criminal mastermind, and when his wife finds out about his enterprise, she comes up with the idea of buying the carwash, a pivotal moment in the series when Walt turns from a struggling chemistry teacher to a drug kingpin. The car wash served as a facade to launder money. If you like to binge-watch TV shows, Breaking Bad starts slow, but by season 2, you might find yourself hooked.
Now, it's also entirely possible that there's no foul play at all, as car washes can be a great investment. Eric seems to be a hustler, between owning a Gym, working in Healthcare, teaching at USC, and buying and selling properties.
Eric Alegria's Campaign Website is full of generalizations and void of specific job experiences.
Why didn't Alergria publicly disclose on his Senate Campaign Website which Health Care Companies he worked for, and why didn't he mention the car wash? And, where did his 401 K he noted in 2018 go on his 700 forms?

In 2023, Alegria acquired another property in Pomona with a fair market value of over $1 million.

What stands out in his 700 Forms is the non-profit, Vision To Learn. Eric Alegria said he was the President of Vision To Learn and received a salary of over $100,000.

Vision To Learn is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization recognized by the Marxist Communist California Teachers Association (CTA), known for pushing racist, anti-American, Anti-Religious, Anti-Parent, and dangerous gender ideologies that damage a child's concept of Self.

Vision To Learn (VTL) partners with school districts through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines the responsibilities of Vision To Learn and the district. Additionally, they offer vision screenings and send an optician to the school to provide the students with their glasses. Typically, school nurses perform vision exams; however, the Vision to Learn Franchise has 50 mobile clinics and employs approximately 200 people nationwide to perform the same task for which school nurses are already trained.
In 2024, Vision To Learn received, $18,971,032 in donations. And generated revenue of $21,595,103, but spent $24.1M. It doesn't matter that they spent more than they received, since that's usually how non-profits conduct their business. To maintain their tax-exempt status, they pay their administrators substantial salaries.
All nonprofits with gross receipts above $50,000 are required to file an IRS Form 990 (or 990-EZ). The Form 990 is publicly available and may be found on the organization's page.
Ann Hollister is the President of Vision To Learn, not Eric Alegria.

I found in another search that Eric Alegria said he was the COO of Vision To Learn. A COO is the chief operating officer - an executive in charge of the daily operations of an organization.
So why did he write he was the President on his Form 700?

To sum it all up, here's what we know: serving in public office has been lucrative for Eric Alegria. When he started as a public servant in 2017, he had only a 401(k), a property in Torrance and El Segundo, and owned a gym. After completing his service representing the Rancho Palos Verdes Community, he acquired a car wash, a property in Avalon, a property in Sacramento, and a position as an Adjunct Instructor of Public Administration at the University of Southern California, USC.
As a Rancho Palos Verdes City Council Member, Eric Alegria helped push a $300 million local bond that raised Palos Verdes Homeowners' taxes, which was then also backed by Proposition 2, a $10 billion statewide school bond spearheaded by Assembly Member Al Muratsuchi, who endorsed Eric Alegria for the PVPUSD School Board. (Double Tax) - a classic, "I will scratch your back, you scratch mine conspiracy." - Which is legal but seems unethical.
Typically, career politicians will advocate for the issues that they value and those that are profitable. And, "Health Care," and our US Government spends over $4.9 trillion on "Health Care," which includes sex changing drugs and sex change operations for minors and a whole lot of other crazy stuff.

So, we go back again to my subscriber's original gut feeling,
"Alegria is not to be trusted."
As far as I can see, he has complied with all the campaign financing laws. And, to be fair, in 2016, when Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump were debating, Hilary tried to call him out for how he avoids certain taxes. And, to that, Trump said, "That makes me smart." So, we should apply equal standards. Eric Alegria has not broken any laws.
Our System is set up in a way to make the rich get richer and the poor get more dependent on the Government.
What's most concerning to me as a parent and a patriot is Eric Alegria's affiliation with PFLAG and the Marxist Church. From the writing on his website, it appears that he believes we can all overlook our differences and work together. Alegria was a featured speaker at PFLAG's June 8, 2025, gathering at the Unitarian Universalist Church.
The Pacific Unitarian Church is a collective political activist organization that flies the Marxist Communist Black Lives Matter Propaganda and waves the LGBTQIA+ Flag symbolizing their belief that there are 72 gender identities and America must embrace communism. They draw people in with a chant for love, peace, and inclusion, but what they are advocating for is an intensification of the class struggle along with the development of socialism. They divide people by color, by sexual preferences, and hold steadfast to the belief that America systematically marginalizes people based on their gender identity, sexual orientation, and race. Therefore, they feel emboldened by their mission to turn children into social justice warriors.

PFLAG is the nation's largest organization dedicated to confusing children into believing gender is a social construct with a rainbow of possibilities that include gender identities that change by the moment, depending on the constellations in the sky. PFLAG believes a biological boy is the same and equivalent to a biological girl, and to save boys' lives, taxpayers must pay for sex change operations, and anyone who questions these orders is a bigot, homophobic, transphobic, and white Christian Nationalist, even if they are black and agnostic.
PFLAG, along with Planned Parenthood, The Transgender Wellness Services, Alcove, the Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA), George Soros, The Tides Foundation, and the Democrats are putting girls at risk by demanding they open up their private spaces to let people with penises compete against them in girls' sports and in locker rooms.
On Eric Alegria's Senate Website, he writes, "Eric will strive to bring people together across the political spectrum, no matter their background or ideology, and take action to address the problems we are facing and put lasting solutions into place."
I appears to me, Eric holds a belief of some utopian fantasy in which those who want to destroy Religion, destroy the Patriarchy, destroy Sex, and create a world straight out of Aldous Huxley's Brave New World can get along and work together with those who love America, love Faith, understand biology, and want the Government to stay out of our lives.
We cannot work together with any person whose ideology includes forcing our children to read books about mentally ill and sexually obsessed people under the false flag of inclusion. We cannot work together with any organization that is systematically attempting to destroy the Foundation of America and turn it into a Communist Country.
I met with Eric Alegria and provided him with the language for a resolution to protect the innocence of children, particularly that of girls. Since joining the PVPUD School Board, he has taken no action to protect our children. He has not brought up for discussion the fact that teachers may change a child's gender identity at school without notifying parents.
Most likely because he is owned by special interest groups and will rubber-stamp the destructive democrats' agenda. If he wants to protect children and families, he would have taken action by now to do so.

I would be more than happy if he would, in the words of Charlie Kirk, "Prove me WRONG!"
And, as far as I know, the only thing Alegria and Walter White have in common is that they both own car washes.
Stay tuned for the next rabbit hole, where I share his campaign finance donations. FPPC ID #1479771
